Can you believe it? It’s been 23 years since we tied the knot!
Twenty-three years of working on us, growing together, and finding new ways to make each other better along the way. Like most relationships, ours has had its triumphs and its struggles. Luckily for us, our story has been filled with far more success than difficulty.
In 23 years, we’ve lived in three different cities and houses, raised two wonderful humans, had the joy of loving three incredible dogs, built more lasting friendships than we can count, and gone on so many unforgettable adventures that picking a top ten would be nearly impossible.
Through it all, we’ve tried to support each other, offer new perspectives, teach each other, challenge each other, and comfort one another through the hard times. Relationships take work. They take consistent effort, day in and day out. They require you to listen when you may not want to, to be vulnerable, and to let your true self be seen. They also require you to keep choosing each other, again and again, with patience, grace, and perseverance.
Some people thought we were a little crazy for taking on this nomadic adventure. They warned us it might strain our relationship in ways we could never expect. And honestly? They were right.
Sometimes this lifestyle is hard. But then again, sometimes life is hard. You know what makes it better? Having a partner walking beside you through all of it.
These last nine months have deepened our relationship. They’ve caused us to reflect on what matters most, created amazing new experiences, and pushed us into places that felt uncomfortable at times. But the strength comes from knowing we have each other.
There is no one I’d rather share this journey with.
I love you more today than I did when we started this crazy adventure 23 years ago. Happy Anniversary!
